The Australian visitor visa is for people who want to travel to Australia either as a tourist, for business purposes, or to visit family. It also enables a holder to study for up to three months, but not to work.

Applicants must show that they have sufficient funds for the duration of their stay and meet the health and character requirements of a visitor. They must also show they have a genuine intention to visit for a short time. This may include submitting:

• Confirmation of travel (onward and return tickets) required
• Evidence of sufficient funds to support your stay in Australia
• Evidence of continued employment in your home country
• Letters outlining plans while in Australia.

This visa subclass is for people who wish to visit Australia for business purposes, such as for business conferences, to negotiate or to do short-term, highly specialised work.

This allows the successful applicant to stay in Australia for up to six weeks.
